AGWA cluster aims to become a global hub for novel food and functional ingredients, value chain technologies, and water technologies that increase access to and utilisation of water resources. The cluster aims to meet increasing global demand, alleviate pressures on agricultural systems and our environment, address shifting dietary patterns, capitalise on technological advancements, and support global food security, ensuring a reliable and resilient supply chain.
As part of the initiative, the AGWA Team has received endorsement and engagement from different players. These players range from regulators to infrastructure and innovation parties, and local and international investors. It is important to highlight that there is full commitment from the entire ecosystem to support companies on their journeys to pioneer solutions related to food and water.
The ultimate objective of the cluster is to contribute to Abu Dhabi’s GDP by attracting foreign direct investment and creating new jobs, while driving environmental sustainability, food and water security.
ADIO will also play a primary role in attracting, identifying and propelling new players in the cluster, especially those that have the potential to drive major advances in areas like alternative proteins, functional ingredients, algae, traditional farming, value chain & water technologies.
